Fruit Basket?

March 1, 2012, Ilan and I found out we were having twins.  But calling them "Baby A" and "Baby B" was kind of boring and impersonal, so we started calling them "Apple" and "Banana" instead.  And thus, a fruit basket!

Apple (boy) and Banana (girl) were born September 8, 2012, at 34 weeks and 1 day.  That day there were two tornadoes in the city, so it was an exciting time to drive to the hospital after my water broke and I went into labor.  Fun!

Even though they were born six weeks early they were both doing amazingly!  Apple went straight to the regular nursery and Banana spent a week in the NICU, although we kind of feel like she didn't need to be there.  Apple had some issues with jaundice so the bris / baby naming was postponed by a week.

September 23, 2012 Apple and Banana were officially given their names: Eitan and Noa!  Welcome to the community, babies!

Eitan and Noa came to us after undergoing fertility treatments.  Infertility or sub-fertility affects 1 out of every 8 couples of childbearing age.  That means, you probably know people struggling with infertility either now, in the past, or in the future.  A lot of people.

Here are some good links for information about being supportive to friends and family who may be dealing with infertility.

More links to come as I find good articles / posts :)
