2 Month Doctor Appointment

Today was their 2 month appointment, the one where they get all the terrible shots. It was so sad. Noa shed her very first real tear. Poor little babies. I hate getting shots. While I was bundling them back up to go out I told them I totally knew where they were coming from with the screaming, and also all about the shots and needles I had to endure in order for them to be here, and that I don’t regret it one bit. Although I wish it had been a little easier, of course!

The stats!

Eitan: 8lb 4oz, 20.5″

Noa: 8lb 7oz, 21″

They are now both officially at the bottom of the normal growth charts!!!

Also, I think Noa has started to smile!

I got her to smile a couple of times this morning, and caught this beauty on camera during our 8 week photo shoot. Now, of course, after all those shots I don’t know if she’ll be in the mood tonight, but yay!

And Eitan may be on the verge of smiling, what do you think…

I’m not sure how to calculate their “adjusted age.” Twins are considered full term at 37 or 38 weeks, so do I calculate from there? (Making their adjusted age 4 weeks) Or do I calculate from 40 weeks? (Making their adjusted age 2 weeks) Because if I go by the 37/38 week full term date, they are starting to smile right on average, whereas if I go by 40 weeks then they are early.  I asked the doctor which date to calculate their adjusted age from and he was like, don't worry about it.  Ha!

In any case, SMILES! OH EM GEE. I think it will make life so much easier when they start smiling at me. I hope it will, anyway. Eight weeks of feeding, burping, diapering, soothing, with no real sign of recognition… I would love some smiles.

So today has been a much better day than yesterday, despite the shots. And now we are all exhausted. I hope they let me sleep tonight.
